Infertility problem is growing gradually and constantly, especially in metropolitan cities. Recant medical report prove that about 60 to 80 millions couple suffering from infertility problem, all over the world, from which about 15 to 20 millions are Indians. It is a typical belief that infertility is a women disorder, but actually, approximately half of the cases arise due to men also.

When a couple suffers from infertility problem, the doctor first examines them through several medical tests like blood test etc. According to their problem, the doctor advises them suitable treatment.

In vitro fertilisation (IVF) is one of the treatments that doctor advise to many couples suffering from infertility problem in India. Also known as Test tube baby procedure, In vitro fertilisation (IVF) literally means ‘fertilisation in glass'. During this procedure, , eggs are removed from the woman's ovary and then placed in the laboratory so that the eggs can be  fertilised properly and can be converted into healthy embryo. The embryo is then placed again in the woman's womb.  IVF is not suitable for all couple suffering infertility issues.

IVF may be recommended as the best solution if:

-Female fallopian tubes are blocked
-Unexplained infertility
-When fertility drugs or intrauterine insemination (IUI) are helpful
-If the male partner has a minor problem with his sperm.

Other causes of infertility are emotional stress, age and changing lifestyle.

How does test tube baby treatment work?

Test tube baby procedure can differ from clinic to clinic and it is also highly depends on individual conditions.

A typical treatment process involves following steps.

Preventing the natural monthly hormone cycle:

Initially women are given medication for inhibiting their monthly hormone cycle. After that the treatment is started by giving injections regularly. This process continues for approximately 14 days.

Enhancing the eggs production:

Woman is then given injection of fertility hormone  called FSH (or Follicle Stimulating Hormone). This injection is used to increase the production of eggs in the ovary. This process continues for about then to twelve days.

Doctor diagnose the condition:

With the support of vaginal ultrasound scans and blood tests, doctor examine the condition of the patient.

Collecting the eggs:

After the enough production of eggs, medical professional, collect the eggs by ultrasound guidance under sedation.

Fertilising the eggs in the laboratory:

Women eggs are than mixed with male sperm and cultured in the lab so that it can be converted into a healthy embryo. The eggs are then transferred back into woman's ovary.

So if you are in need of IVF, you can take help from any reputed IVF India clinic.
